Apprentice Print Technician

Due to continued expansion in our print and signage arm of the business (Signs 24-7), we’re looking for a highly motivated and proactive apprentice to join our dynamic team at our Hartford location. No two days will be the same as you will be working across various print and signage projects from local clients to national rollouts

Weekly Wage: £187.50

Working Week: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm,
unpaid lunchbreak 12.45pm – 1.15pm

Total hours per week: 36.60

Expected Duration: 28 months

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and hardworking marketing and PR agency based in Hartford, Cheshire as an Apprentice Print Technician. The Signs 24-7 arm of Solutions 24-7 Ltd is expanding and we are now looking to hire someone to learn to run our state of the art large format HP Latex Printer and be taught to laminate and mount prints. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting an existing print and finishing team, in a full-service marketing agency setting.

Day to day tasks include (after training):

  • Liaising with client’s over email, phone and in-person (when Covid permits)
  • Liaising with our signage and account teams
  • Raising invoices and purchase orders
  • Stocktaking and ordering of products
  • Sending artwork to print by operating our Onyx RIP software
  • Operating our HP large format latex printer to print on a variety of substrates
  • Operating our summa cutter to cut vinyl’s
  • Operating our guillotines to precision cut a variety of substrates
  • Mounting vinyl’s to a variety of substrates
  • Packing and distribution as and when required

This is an excellent ‘foot in the door’ for a pro-active individual, who is looking to embark on a career with 24-7 and help to grow our agency further.

Do you have the right skillset?

  • Level 5 (or equivalent) minimum in maths and English at GCSE
  • Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Outlook and Excel to a good standard. Knowledge of Adobe would also be advantageous
  • Good attention to detail is paramount

Do you know about print?

  • Experience of working in the print industry would be desirable but not essential as you will be fully trained

Can you communicate?

  • Good communication skills with the ability to operate closely with our senior manager and a confident, self-assured and personable personality
  • You’ll need to be confident over the phone, e-mail and face-to-face

Are you organised?

  • Able to prioritise and be decisive
  •  Able to work off own initiative and under pressure
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively on several projects at any one time
  • Ability to work to tight, strict deadlines

Desired qualifications

Future prospects

Full time position within the company is available to the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship programme. 

 

Things to consider

Pay:

  • £187.50 per week for those under 18years old
  • £225.00 per week for those 18years and over

24-7 operate on a 6 acre green site so there is plenty of opportunity for outdoor recreational time.
